Tracey McGrath registered midwife

Tracey McGrath is a registered midwife with over 12 years experience. She trained at the Whittington Hospital in Highgate where she learned to appreciate the value of continuity of carer during pregnancy. To be truly 'with woman', building a trusting relationship is a wonderful way to practice midwifery.

In 2008 she joined the Luton and Dunstable Foundation Trust as a Labour Ward midwife.

Midwifery is a wonderful profession that has over the years fed my mind and my soul. She is passionate about preparing families for pregnancy and birth to ensure they have as positive an experience as possible; that they feel in control and able to make informed choices every step of the way.

Sometimes, for a variety of reasons pregnancies do not have a happy ending. This is an area of midwifery that is not often discussed but it is one that she has a significant interest in.

In 2015 she began to work on building a bereavement service within Maternity that was holistic and family centred and in the Summer of 2016 formally took the role of Bereavement Midwife.

As well as working with this clinic to prepare families for pregnancy, birth and the immediate postnatal period as new parents, she also practice as an independent Bereavement Midwife. In this capacity she is available to support families through pregnancy after loss – a time when families may need extra support, advice and guidance.

Maureen Briggs Holistic Therapist, specialising in Reflexology
RM, MAR, VTEC

Maureen Briggs career began as a nurse, followed by midwifery training. She has practised as a midwife for many years locally and providing holistic care to women and their families gathered my interest into training as a holistic therapist.

She became a member of the association of reflexologists in 2003 (MAR), she also subsequently trained in other alternative therapies.

She has worked at Keech Hospice providing reflexology to patients and families and currently she is providing a wellbeing day for staff at the local hospital.

Reflexology is a specific pressure technique applied to the feet where all the internal structures and organs are mapped or mirrored in miniature. It is a simple non-invasive treatment which helps the body to maintain a delicate balance between the nine systems. Skelital, Muscular, Neurological, Respiratory, Digestive, Endocrine, Urinary, and Reproductive.
All these systems work together in harmony and unison to keep the body in good health.

Reflex points corresponding to systems are treated to enhance energy flow encouraging the body to balance and heal and systems to work in unison again.
Reflexology can help aid relaxation, improve mood, release tension, and enhance sleep. These can help improve general wellbeing to be able to cope with stresses that life can bring.

Maureen enjoys providing this ancient art of Reflexology as a complementary therapy and enabling the body to balance and heal itself.

She welcomes you to her therapeutic and calming clinic environment.
